01Overview

PennyTap is designed as a local-first bookkeeping app. You do not need to create an account, and we do not sell your data or use advertising trackers.

02Data Stored on Your Device

Your bills, categories, accounts, ledgers, budgets, recurring bills, reminder settings, privacy lock setting, and other preferences are stored on your device using Apple storage APIs such as SwiftData and UserDefaults.

03Widget Data

If you use the widget, PennyTap writes a small summary snapshot to an App Group container so the widget can show monthly spending, balance, budget, and top category information. This stays on your device.

04Backups and Export

You can export CSV files and JSON backup files from the app. If you choose to share or store those files elsewhere, that destination is controlled by you and may be governed by the destination service's privacy policy.

05iCloud Manual Backup

PennyTap Pro can manually upload and restore a backup using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. This is initiated by you inside the app. It is not automatic multi-device sync.

06Notifications and Privacy Lock

Bookkeeping reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Privacy lock uses Apple's local authentication APIs such as Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode. PennyTap does not receive your biometric data.

07Subscriptions and Payments

Subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Pure Insight Technology Ltd does not receive your payment card details.

08Deleting Your Data

You can reset local data inside PennyTap, restore from a backup, or delete the app from your device. Apple transaction records are managed by Apple.
